The first common record of Tobias Menguser & Boris Pipiorke, under the project name Alex Sword & John Chevalier, was released in March 2002 on the re-launched Label “Phuture Wax” (label of Tom Wax). The track: “Daumenschraube“ was one of the favorite tracks of DJ Rush, who played it at the “Siegessäule” during the Loveparade 2002 in Berlin. The track was also licensed to the very successful “U 60311” compilation (mixed by DJ Rush).

The self titled solo-project by Alex Sword (which is produced by both, Tobias & Boris) raised some serious attention with the first release. The track "Point Six" (released on the Dutch label Work Hard Play Hard) was played very often at the well known YOUFM Clubnight Radio Show - hosted by the DJs Tom Wax and Karotte. This track also found its way on the playlist of Tom Novy at the mega event Mayday and even the French DJ legend Laurent Garnier plays it!

His project “Caffeine People” expands the production-range of Tobias & Boris to the Tech-house direction. A couple of productions had been made together with De-Tox, the junior A&R of Drizzly Music. The first release “Watch & Pray” was praised as an Ibiza summer hit by Tom Novy in his TV show MTV Dance-Floor Charts in 2003!

Even before their co-operation as Sword & Chevalier started they both had some solo techno releases. Tobias had several vinyl releases as John Chevalier on “Phuture Wax” during the years 1996-1998. Boris had a couple of releases on the labels Compressed (run by Michael Burkat), SOK, GAMB, Intensiv and Shokoy. The project “Phase Encoder” can be seen as a side project of Sword & Chevalier as Boris had a couple of releases under this name before. With their common project Sword & Chevalier and the release "Daumenschraube" they both started again their DJ career in 2002. They had bookings at the Streetparade in Zurich, where they played at the “Colors of Life“ lovemobile and in the SFDRS-radio. Furthermore they played at the Ubar in Frankfurt (U 60311), at the Airport in Würzburg and in many different clubs during the Phuture Wax Relaunch Tour. A couple of gigs had been played in European countries such as Slovenia, Croatia and Estonia.
