Laroque ()
Aka: Laroque

Tim Carroll Aka (Laroque) was brought up in a musical family. All of his family playing various instruments. Music variation was prominent in his household. He was given a cheap guitar at the age of 12 and taught himself to play basic chord structures, playing in various bands and learning how to format songs/lyrics and musical structure.
The strongest influence of music came with the birth of dance music and the rave scene, he was passionate about the new wave in music and attended and help set up many outdoor raves and parties, then came the opportunity to work with two musical allies Jez and Dj Grub who had worked with the D.I.Y party movement, they formed a musical collaboration called Sunburst.
Working with an Atari and Cubase they experimented with dance/songwriting crossover tunes experimenting with breaks and lyrics. It was about this time that the hardcore era and Drum and Bass culture started to appear with the appearance of the new style with albums such as LTJ Bukems Logical Progression etc, this created the opportunity to experiment even further with break beats and bass lines. Already much in demand as a live outfit they started to play live in the west country at Techno parties, teasing the audiences with live Drum and Bass pa's, with live guitar, bass and vocals behind heavy sampled breaks and synth lines. After a much needed break Tim started accumulating his own equipment, having always had a need to continue experimenting with his own ideas. He worked hard on his approach to making music, taking his past experience, he teamed up with GLR artist J- Laze to help him compromise with the finer points of honing a DJ friendly tune.
His first signing came with a tune called 'someone like you' Which was signed immediately by LTJ Bukem for progression sessions 8, a considerable number of signings followed on GLR and labels such as Hospital, Defunked, Fokuz, Media and Jerona Fruits. With prospective tunes being considered for other labels such as Phuturistic Bluez, Double Zero. With tunes being played by DJ's the likes of, Fabio, Flight, High contrast, LTJ Bukem, Nookie, The Insiders, London Electricity, Makoto, Greg Packer, and Bailey and receiving regular radio airplay on Radio 1 and radio1 Xtra. Always one for stepping out on a limb, recent projects include working on a D&B tune with House diva Angie brown, working a performance poet into a D&B tune, doing a tune with Vocalist Claire Hearnden (Tall Paul-Komisera) experimenting with slower breaks and house tunes which have been considered for a MOS album, and spreading his wings as a Dj at major nights in the Europe and the UK to get the sound heard........lovin it!
