Syncopix :

Syncopix Grew up in the computer era of our century, He first got influenced by the Disco sound of the late 70s. He first started mixing his parents´ oldschool compilations and recorded mixtapes for his friends  himself. In 85' he cought up with the New Wave and Synth- Pop sound. He got into everything from "Depeche Mode" to "Kraftwerk"; his folks' old skool Ep's. Some time later followed up by groups such as Hijack, Silver Bullit, Son of Noise or Gun Shot it was hip hop and rap which accompained him on his musical exploration. While playing all kinds of clasic instruments he learned to play drums which lead to a logical progression to a faster and harder sound for listening.

In 1993 his first 1210's and Vivanco mixer found its way into his bedroom. Vinyls would fly over them until 1994 the first D&B club called "Underground" (Powerhouse, Hamburg) would open its doors.

In 1998, the D&B scene in Hamburg took it to another level. The family kept growing. Music continued playing a central role within in Syncopix life, something he know he will always relate to. He felt something when he made my first tape back at his parents´, then in his bedroom, then playing some styles out in a club. Dropping tracks and mixing is a survival issue for him, he needs to FORM his emotions and shape his ideas. It´s a healthy way to express himself without saying much words.

Music is not just a bunch of frequence waveforms, in certain moments it may reflect everything you´ve ever felt, it may touch you so deep that it´s hard to describe. Music is the evidence for the human soul. Let´s take it from there.

In 2000 he was so convinced by his sound that hr had to try out setting up his own label. he started Syncopix as a platform for the music coming out of his room. This pseudonym still stands for the production, the studio, and for his musical expression. The intension is to keep himself more in the background while the music does the talking. The more official instalement is mtc Yaw´s and his Drum & Bass label Formrecording. Launched in 1999 it´s a shared platform to set up a new standard in the german Drum & Bass network. he works hard and he's have fun doing it - because he's future thinking people, Bo!

Keeping it coming, he got in touch with the Hospital label in London and they´d put out a tune called "Swollen" on their compilation serie "Plastic Surgery 04 #2". Followed up by a 12" on their M.A.S.H. imprint "Soul secure/ Paris". he now works closely together for spreading the smoother side of drum and bass within germany. "Happy-Happy, Joy-Joy" got licensed for the "Weapons of Mass Creation" Compilation on Hospital Records. The 12" features the Hospital anthem "General Hospital". The next months look pretty good on the remix side of things, and there´s a relauch of Syncopix Records towards the summer of 2005. biography
